Woodworks II is a West Midlands programme to
offer training to all those employed in forestry
or working in agriculture. Partners include Small
Woods /Green Wood Centre, Walford and North Shropshire
College, Pershore College and Warwickshire College.
Training courses being run in by the Small Woods
that are part-subsidised are:
Introduction to Small Woodland Management Level
3 OCN 26th and 27th June
Cleft Wood Gate Making, 19th and 20th June
Hedgerow Chairs, 3rd and 4th July
Charcoal making, 17th and 18th July
Coppice products Level 2 OCN, 16th-20th August
Social Forestry Level 3 OCN, 4th,5th,18th and
19th September
Forestry Skills level 2 OCN
Sustainable Woodland Management Level 3 OCN
Coppicing Level 2 OCN
Horselogging Level 2 OCN
Hedgelaying Level 2 OCN
To be eligible for funding you must work in
the West Midlands region, be employed or self
employed, and spend at least 50% of your time
in primary production in the forestry sector,
or be farmers with woodland on your holding,
or be gamekeepers with woodland management responsibilities.
Arboriculturalists (tree surgeons) are only
eligible if at least 40% of their work is forestry
related.
